Our safer gambling work In 2017, the Behavioural Insights Team was commissioned by GambleAware to explore whether behavioural science could help to reduce risky gambling. The first phase of our research showed that applying behavioural insights, even as small changes, can have a substantial impact on the uptake of safer gambling tools. Safer Gambling What is 'safer gambling'? Gambling is a form of entertainment that you pay for. This means that you are handing over money for something which should be fun, and which will last for a finite length of time - like buying a cinema ticket. Safer Gambling Week has come together in association with EGR this year to create the Safer Gambling Forum, a series of four short online content sessions for the gambling industry. The sessions provide the opportunity for the industry to share knowledge and best practice about their work on safer gambling.
